I am a perfectionist so I only work with a limited number of clients each year. You can be assured that may aim is to make your garden your dream garden.
No Plastic Plants or Plastic Grass
I only work with real grass and plants and do not work with artificial plants or turf. I believe gardens should be beautiful, wildlife friendly and can also be practical.
About Me
My name is Leigh Jackson and I live In Cottingham, East Yorkshire. I have been around gardens and plants all of my life. I’m a 4th-generation gardener in my family and have my dad to thank for getting me interested when I was younger. I’d often go with him on gardening jobs and I would cut the grass and edge the lawns!
I also grew up around a plant nursery in East Yorkshire (Spring Gardens in Sigglesthorne which is now a big garden centre) and spent much of my time running through the polytunnels.
Serious gardening came back to me in around 2015 when I started reading books and articles from garden designers such as Mark Gregory, Andy Sturgeon, Adam Frost and Chris Beardshaw. I’d also become one of Monty Don’s disciples and saw the benefits of gardening and having a good garden for better mental health.
I’ve not looked back. I am also a really keen allotment holder and have designed my own to be “self managing” utilising technology and good ideas to reduce the workload whilst still allowing for a good harvest. It has been a real success!
How I can Help
I am able to be your gardener in Cottingham and nearby if you are looking for a gardener who will help you make the garden of your dreams. Your garden does not have to be big but it is important that the project allows us both to collaborate and improve it over the weeks, months and years ahead.
I only work as a gardener for those in or close to Cottingham, East Yorkshire. This is my primary area of work and allows me to dedicate the time required to really make a difference. I’m not here just to cut the lawn and hedge and go home!
I only have space for a small number of gardens to work on each year so I can only work with you if you want me to look after your garden for the whole season as a minimum (6-8 months of the year). This might be a visit once a week or once every two weeks depending on the size of the garden and the project.
If you like to garden yourself I can design you a garden complete with planting list or help with smaller elements of the design such as just the plants or just the layout.
I can also build simple garden furniture and design elements where required.
