Child Friendly Garden Design

The thought of creating a child friendly garden design that is both fit for children and adults can feel overwhelming. But, with planning and consideration for what the garden will be used for the garden can not only be a success but look amazing too!
Don’t forget the adults and you can use clever garden design like screening and clever positioning to hide some of the play area from the main view from the house – even in a small garden.
When thinking about creating a child friendly garden you will need to think about zones in the gardens – these are almost different rooms in your garden.
Also think about what equipment you want – my own preference is to use wood and metal for any children’s structures – avoid big and bright plastic toys if you can as these will not blend with anything else you have outside (unless you live in a theme park!).

It is so important for children to be able to play outside as often as possible to enjoy the fresh air and keep fit in their natural environment. There is no better place for them than their own garden to play in and get used to the big wide world we have out there. Simple things like a sand pit, swing or slide can easily be built into your garden in such a way that it does not make it look unsightly and also so it’s use can be altered in the future when the child is too big for it. You can really have something that is not only a fun place for you and your children but it can also look awesome too!
